What are the Best and Worst things about your job?
I love that this role gives you the responsibility to make your own decisions right from the beginning and that you can make an impact on the company right from the start. You also have a lot of freedom to make decisions for your business and you're given a platform to discuss your opinions right from when you're in training even if you have a different opinion to someone who's been here for 10 years, they'll still listen to what you have to say and hear you out because it's such a collaborative workplace.
A lot of the time, you're not seen to be learning unless you ask a lot of questions so if you're the kind of person who likes to take something away and have a go at working on it yourself then this can be frustrating because you're not deemed to be passionate enough.
What is the annual salary for this role?
Starting salary: £23,000 - £25,000
Current salary: £25,000 - £27,000
What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Make sure you have researched the company, what merchandising is, what your role is and how this fits into the business. Have lots of examples of times where you've shown what skills you've got and how they're relevant to this role- e.g if you organised an event in University or led a group project and how this makes you the ideal candidate for the role.
Do you have any interview tips?
Be honest and open and don't try to change your personality for the day. You need to be truthful because this culture might not be for everyone and you need to know that this is a company where you'll enjoy coming to work every day and want to be there!
