What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

- You are given lots of responsibility and you can have a huge impact!
- The people are everything at TJX, I feel so much part of the team despite never actually meeting my team in person.
- No two days are the same, you need to be flexible and agile which makes the job exciting.
- You can see your impact everything you walk into a TK Maxx store!!
- Opportunity to progress quickly and move around the business often.

Worst

- The graduate scheme is advertised as Buying and Merchandising and you will be made in Merchandising for at least the first couple of years.
- Lots of analysing and spreadsheets to use on a daily basis, which might not be your thing.

Starting salary: £23,000 - £25,000

Start: 08:30

Finish: 17:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

- Keep going, it was one of the lengthier application processes but it's all worth it.
- Ensure you show your passion for the retail sector.
- Understand the company, its ethos and the off-price model. There is so much information on the TJX careers website use it.
- No experience is required but if you have it show it.

Do you have any interview tips?

- TJX wants to employ genuinely kind people so be yourself!
- Understand the business model and how off-price affects buying and merchandising.
- Do your research understand what buying and merchandising are in retail.
- Remember to be noticed in group activities, you can't be assessed if you don't contribute.
- Lots of competency-based questions e.g. tell us about a time when something did not go to plan and how did you resolve this.
