What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

The main advice I would give is to be enthusiastic and show a passion to do well within the interview process. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go into a graduate job but applied for Laing O'Rourke as I was really interested in the role. The assessment centre and telephone interview are for you to shine and prove who you are, rather than being judged over a CV and I think this is what counts most.

Do you have any interview tips?

Prepare, prepare, prepare. Be ready with lots of potential answers but don't sound robotic as if you are reading some paper. Know what you want to say and your answers will flow. I found on my telephone interview to have all my researched notes about Laing O'Rourke around me and when something relevant came up I could refer to a certain project which I think gave me brownie points.
