What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

As with all jobs, if you show your passion for the subject it will stand you in a good position. I left a small consultancy to come to Amey and by reading up about the company and the contracts first, I was able to tailor my interview preparation appropriately which helped me have a successful interview. Show that you will be a committed individual and make them want you in their team.

Do you have any interview tips?

One main interview advice would be that highlight areas where mistakes were made. Everyone can talk 100% about what went well. I wouldn't say that you should go in and say that everything went wrong and we lost contracts etc, but show how you dealt with the situation and what you have learnt and how it was resolved. This shows more character to the interviewer than someone who always focuses on the positives. I can tell you now that I have made errors on projects as im sure others have, its about how you reacted and what you did to resolve this or make the best of the situation. Bring examples of projects also if they are relevant to the job role. Don't be afraid to interview the interviewer about the company and the office as they will see that you are interested to know more.
