What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Role gives you an opportunity to work independently, but with a strong support team cheering you on.

The job is rewarding. You don't feel like a small cog in a big machine. Right from the word go, you are part of the team and responsibility grows rapidly.

The feeling of accomplishment is massive. You get to the end and you know you have achieved something. This is amplified by the fact that it's a team achievement and you have been actively been taken on that journey from day dot.

Worst

Some days are more exciting than others. You need to be self-motivated even through the dull tasks. This can sometime be made difficult by the independence you are given.

The hours can get long. While GT offers a good degree of flexible working, to meet the business needs you can sometimes find yourself working beyond the normal 8-5.

Some tasks take a lot to stay focused. Due to the role being quite admin have, you can often find yourself doing mundane tasks, by this does not outweigh the interesting task at all.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £23,000 - £25,000

Current salary: £33,000 - £35,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 08:00

Finish: 17:30

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Understand the language of the business and try to foster it.

This should be the underlying message you are trying to link your strengths and attributes back to.

The application process is a chance to showcase you, not the person you think they are looking for. Don't try and oversell or feel the need to use complex language. - You are good enough how you are, so sell that.

Build in short, medium and long term goals. Demonstrating that you have though further ahead than next Wednesday will demonstrate your passion and commitment

Be authentically yourself - GT's culture is built around people being their strongest asset. By showing your true colours, you can more effectively show your strengths

Understand the core business. A big part of what makes GT, GT is it's business model.

The more you can make the interview a two way conversation the better - at the end of the day, the person on the other side of the table is also human. They want you to succeed, so ask questions, stimulate conversation and as much as you can enjoy the process.
