What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

I would advise candidates that if you are going to apply for a role in recruitment, you need to have a strong head for this! Recruitment is all about sales, being target driven, business development, and bringing out the best in yourself and Hays as a company! It is a competitive role, but that buzz and rush of adrenaline you get when you hit your target or grow your fees is one of the best feelings you will ever get, so being highly motivated is key! You learn so much about yourself when you take up this role, identifying what your strengths and weaknesses are. Everybody at Hays is so friendly and welcoming, and it feels like we are one big family! It honestly is one of the best companies to be a part of!

Do you have any interview tips?

The key to interviewing is just be yourself! Your interviewers have shortlisted you for a reason - that in itself is an achievement. You may get asked questions where you have to relate personal experiences back to the questions, so try to be as specific as possible. Also, doing small things like smiling, nodding your head, making eye contact, or asking further questions will look like you are engaged with your interviewer and interested in what he/she is saying.
