Best

Managing a category in the way I want to, as long as I "show my workings" I have free reign to steer the category as I want to.

Worst

Often the workload is so high that it's too much time spent problem solving and not driving forward which can be frustrating.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

List all good experience, it may not be abundantly obvious that it's transferable but a good interviewer should see past the face value and actually at the skills you've used along the way. Anything regarding problem solving or bringing people around to your way of thinking - especially good if it was with senior colleagues.

Prepare plenty of examples of problem solving in the past, both successful examples and a couple of not so successful, but how you learnt from it and what you would do differently next time.
