What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
You need to be really enthusiastic about a career in the engineering sector - no matter what your background. Work experience is really important as it demonstrates your ability to be able to work with others, who are not necessarily in your peer group.
Have outside activities and hobbies that you participate in, which shows you as being a well rounded individual.

You need to have an idea of where you would like to end up working as a career, be clear about what your strengths are and also your weaknesses and where you would want to improve.
Research the company and really understand what it is they do - when you are in your interview and your networking lunch you are able to ask these questions to the people who will be managing you, and those who are currently on/ have been on the scheme. This shows enthusiasim for the position.
