What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Make sure you understand the purpose of brands and branding - it's not just about a logo. It's about the vision and the mission of the brand and what their greater purpose is.
The brand essay is the most important part of your application.

Do you have any interview tips?

The initial interview:
Questions about your CV and brand essay, plus standard interview questions such as a time you overcame a challenge, an example of great teamwork, your strengths and weaknesses, why you think you would be a good fit for the company and for branding etc.

The phase 2 all day session:
Team work tasks; individual tasks e.g. simple data analysis, copy/prose writing skills.
A "round robin" series of short but intense interviews with various directors covering our pillars: insight, branding, innovation, strategy.
