What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Research the organisational structure of the Civil Service, how this is changing and how it will affect how Government interacts with the public. The 'Civil Service Reform Plan' is a good place to start.
Do you have any interview tips?
Statisically the odds are strongly against any candidate applying to the Fast Stream and I would advise not to set your sights solely on the scheme. This will help ease the pressure on what is already a very competitive and long process.
I thought I had blown my chances in the first exercise of the assessment centre which allowed me to relax. I felt like pressure was off, this resulted in me performing strongly in the remaining exercises and I think was pivotal in my success.
