What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Be really clear about why you want to join Volkswagen Group UK - of all the companies in the UK, why exactly VWG and why exactly the graduate scheme as opposed to any other path?
Try to find out more about the company from the people who work here - connect with them on LinkedIn, ask them about their experience, what they like and don't like, would they recommend, etc.
Visit some of our retailers - with 5 brands across the whole UK, there surely is a showroom within easy drive of where you are, so make sure you experience our products, people and culture before starting your application.
Do you have any interview tips?
Be prepared for competency-based interviews - they are not designed to catch you out, but having published the competencies on our recruitment website, you'd be expected to have prepared some relevant and thoughtful examples to demonstrate the skills we're looking for!
Be relaxed during the assessment centre and remember you are not competing against the other candidates, you are competing against the criteria, so don't tread on each other, collaborate, that's what VWG is all about!
You will have plenty of opportunities for networking during the assessment centre, so make the most of them as they could be your key to a position in VWG even if the graduate scheme is not exactly suitable for you!
