What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Current salary: £25,000 - £27,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 7:30

Finish: 21:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

The graduate scheme involves 32 weekly lectures w/ homework and a project to be completed outside of project time. Graduates spend around 20 hours per week extra completing this work so make sure you are fully aware of this before applying/ accepting the role. The quality of these courses is not great and not what you would expect from one of the biggest companies in the world. You are also not paid for it but if you fail you can lose your job (hmm.).

Do you have any interview tips?

Interview process consists of an initial telephone interview where they chat to you about your degree and what kind of technical knowledge you have. This part isn't difficult and they concentrate more on you as a person rather than how much you know.

The final part is the assessment centre. You will have to give a 10 minute presentation about yourself in-front of around 5-10 people. From there you will have 5 interviews in quick succession. Each interview will be based on different aspects of your ability (Technical, management, team work, ...can't remember the other two). The technical interview is more of a chat about the work you have completed and your final year project. As long as you know about the work you have done this part is fine. If you don't know about something, just say, they aren't expecting you to know everything and if you try to waffle something and get it wrong it does not come across well). They are looking more about your approach and studying of the relevant topics (doesn't need to be aeronautical engineering). The remaining four interviews are about any experiences in and out of work that you have gained professional/ personal skills, rather than technical skills, in your life. You'll find the answers to these questions are the same each time, just tailor your response to the interview you are on. If you have taken part in a group project you can focus on that, as that will pretty much give you all the answers you need (dealing with conflict, managing time, how you solves a problem you had etc etc).
