What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Pick out your key skills against the application criteria and make sure you demonstrate in your CV, application form or cover letter how you have achieved these.

Show a wide range of skills and experiences - academic / sports achievements / work / voluntary / mentoring etc. all experience is valuable and can show you have a host of skills.

Be proud of what you have achieved and make sure your CV is a representation of yourself and how you want to be portrayed.

Do you have any interview tips?

Be yourself - sounds silly but I was really pleased when my feedback matched how I wanted to portray myself. Prepare and understand the role you are applying for.

Really understand HR, the impact of HR on a business and the challenges HR face within the energy industry. You don't need to be an expect on the energy industry but do need to have an appreciation of how significant developments within the industry impact or effect HR and how this may be played out in practise.

I also looked at key challenges HR as a function face and what other companies and EON do to combat these - such as high absence levels.
