What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Even under Covid-19 restrictions, I've been able to get out on gas mains replacement sites to learn and understand the operations and procedures involved from the contractors completing the work. As well as getting to meet some individuals from my team at these sites (which is far better than through Microsoft Teams).

Worst

Working from home can sometimes feel quite isolating from the team (even with having teams calls) so I know I've missed out on certain aspects of the job that I would have experienced if I were in the office with members of my team.

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Keep your answers concise and clear.

Be honest with what you've done.

A chance to showcase what you've done outside of your degree.

Do you have any interview tips?

Prepare for questions based on first year engineering thermodynamics and properties of gas.

Enjoy the interview as it's a chance not only for them to find out about you but its also a chance for you to find more out about the company and some of the interviewers experiences at the company.

It's a good chance to describe situations that have gone well, but also good to show situations where it didn't go to plan and how you learnt or overcame from this.
