What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
The company is big on cost and customer at the moment. If you have any experience in working/helping customers or reducing cost in any way I would say definitely highlight these.
Do you have any interview tips?
The whole day is an interview process so make sure you appear enthusiastic and excited about the day from the word go. For the technical interview you will need to know about the Gas turbine (so read the information online) and also you will get asked questions on a specific topic eg. fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, safety etc.
For the competency interview have a look on the interent about typical competency interview questions and see if you can come up with a bank of scenarios/experiences relating to these competencies (try and not repeat the same experiences).
Finally for the team exercise; don't be dominating - be confident, if you have a point that you wan't people to be aware of then don't back down too easily. Keep track of time and make sure all opinions on the team are voiced.
