What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

No one day is the same and the variety allows for a multi-faceted approach to working. I do not have to sit in front of a desk the whole day on a single task, I juggle a range of tasks that involve a multitude of working methods including interviews, meetings, workshops, analysis and presenting. The variety keeps it interesting and prevents me from becoming disillusioned and unproductive.

Worst

Going into a large organization has its challenges as there are deep rooted cultures that can seem counter intuitive to the challenges and tasks you face. However, graduates are hired to bring fresh ideas and vigor into the workplace so effecting a change to culture, despite being very hard and often times demoralising, can provide the largest sense of accomplishment.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Current salary: £27,000 - £29,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 08:00

Finish: 16:30

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Get involved in extra curricular events and training which will make you stand out from the crowd. I attended the UN Global Impact's Global Goals Roadshow as this was something that interested me and was applicable to a range of industries. It also provided me the opportunity to develop my networking skills, interview techniques and build my confidence in a more formal setting than university.

Do you have any interview tips?

The best advice I can give for an interview is to take your time before responding. It is easy to fall into the trap of speaking at a million miles an hour trying to get as may points across as possible. However, taking a short pause to think of your response and to control how quickly speak will pay dividends as it gives the impression that you are calm controlled and specific. Additionally, make sure you have prepared multiple examples for stock questions i.e. how did you deal with conflict and resolve this issue going forward etc. The more examples you the more confident you will feel.
