What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Being in a new environment that I had not been exposed to before, I felt like I did not know as much as my colleagues in my team. However, everyone is extremely friendly and happy to help out and show the ropes. I am in my first year of the Future Leaders scheme and feel as if I have learnt so much - I have been given my own projects to work on which seems daunting but have a supportive Line Manager and team should I have any queries.

Worst

The first few months involved a lot of training in software and processes, however, this varies between each placement.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Current salary: £27,000 - £29,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 09:00

Finish: 17:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

When applying, your passion needs to come through - an individual who strives to achieve personal and professional excellence is an important attitude to have. The process involves a series of online tests and video interviews and the key is to be genuine and honest.
When applying to the DHL future leader's programme you may not have a directly applicable degree but as long as you show willingness and capability to learn and have relevant soft skills and basic understanding of the company, you will be fine.

Do you have any interview tips?

I was asked questions such as:
Describe a time you were faced with a challenge and how you dealt with it?
What do you consider your greatest achievement to be?

There were some questions I did not have direct experience with as I came from a design-related background, however, whatever you do - do not just reply "I don't know, I have never experienced this". You can explain that you have never dealt with an experience that the interviewer described but then go on to describe how you would go about the situation if it were to arise. This shows the interviewer your thought processes in stressful situations.
