Good academic ability is a must, as the company tries to attract the best/most talented graduates.
Don't only concentrate on academia - it is as much about you as a person as well as your grades on paper.

Show your enthusiasm for your discipline.
Be prepared to answer questions relevant to your discipline, but don't feel you need to know everything about your discipline inside out - the questions I experienced were not particularly technical to answer.
Competency questions were used - don't try to memorize standard answers to competency questions beforehand. Take time to understand the question and give the best answer you can.
