What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Whilst it's always important to demonstrate your experience or show confidence, don't forget to give equal attention in your covering letter to Balfour Beatty and why you want to join it. Do your research. What are their core values / key skills? What is their mission statement? What projects have they worked on recently that have interested you?

Do you have any interview tips?

Graduates are not expected to know everything. If you are asked an engineering question in an interview you can't immediately answer, explain the engineering principles you understand will be at work in the scenario described, or where you would go to find and verify the answer.

The interview process often incorporates a "working with others" section where you'll be asked to work with that day's applicants. Working towards the objective set is important, but it is arguably more important to show your team working skills - how well you listen, how you lead and influence others, time management and your general temperament.
