What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Look at the E.ON graduate website and identify the key competencies which are needed for the graduate scheme - make sure you bring these out in your application. Try to display your interest in the energy sector as well as the specific graduate scheme to which you have applied. Get at least one friend/family member/colleague to read through your application before you send it.
Do you have any interview tips?
Research the energy sector and be clear on why this is an area that interests you. Try to find out about current issues and how they might impact E.ON in the future. Be aware of E.ON's strategic objective of becoming the customers' trusted energy partner. Look into the specific graduate scheme that you are applying for and think about what you will bring to it/what you will get out of it. Ensure that you have practised competency based interview questions and make use the STAR structure (situation, task, action, result) in your answers. Try to use a variety of examples. Think about what motivates you as well as your values and principles (do these align with E.ON's values and principles?). Make sure that you are prepared to assume responsibility at an early stage and come to the interview with a proactive mind-set as you will be expected to use your initiative on the graduate scheme.
