What are the Best and Worst things about your job?
Best
Nice workplace environment - everyone is friendly and professional.
Decent salary and benefits, slightly above the construction industry average.
Challenging work - lots of responsibility to design complex structures from day 1 and learn a lot.
Worst
Near major deadlines, we sometimes have to work long hours.
Design can sometimes be very frustrating, especially if specifications are changing often.

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000
Current salary: £29,000 - £31,000

Start: 09:00
Finish: 18:00
What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Make CV relevant to design work e.g. concrete, steel design. Site experience is valued so if you have some, give plenty of detail.
Do you have any interview tips?
Do some research and demonstrate an interest in tunnelling and design. I was asked about previous design projects at university so brush up on technical knowledge but also think about company culture and what you want from a workplace. The interview was quite friendly and informal so ask plenty of questions to see if the job sounds like a good fit.
