What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
This role requires a broad view of engineering. You are involved from the concept stage through to construction and sometimes supervising on site. Although a lot of detailed knowledge is required to carry out the job it is just as critical to be able to see the big picture and understand the clients motives.
Do you have any interview tips?
Know the company - It is a must that you make an effort to understand the brand and the values and know why you applied for the job here and not elsewhere.
Current topics and trends - How is the housing sector performing? Are there any recent studies or papers published? Is there a city wide masterplan? Are modular houses the future?
Be confident - If you're not confident then "Fake it until you make it" and pretend you're confident.
Be personable - What do you do outside of work? Have you been on a recent adventure? Do you enjoy networking and getting to know other people?
