What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Do not approach this company via the online recruitment/HR operated portal. Find out who the decision makers are in each office and contact them directly. I was receiving emails rejecting me for jobs with this company for months after I became an employee. You are unlikely to be able to sell yourself through the online application route, nor can anyone else make sensible judgements about your interest or aptitude based on such a crazy method of 'screening'.
