What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

I would advise future candidates to take the time to thoroughly research Compass Group before even attempting the application. I would suggest gaining knowledge of their history and development of the company as it is today, their values, what sectors they cover, their competitors and what has been happening in the news and social media. I found LinkedIn in particular extremely useful to research influential people and to understand more about the different sectors and job roles. Compass Group is such an enormous company it can take a while to grasp this knowledge and understanding.

Do you have any interview tips?

The fact that you have got through to the interview stage clearly means that you are a strong candidate, however you still need to prove that you are capable and fit with Compass Group's culture.
I would advise candidates to give consideration to their image before they even step into the interview room. Creating the right impression from the start is essential. I always keep in mind that old saying, 'you never get a second chance to make a first impression'. Choose your outfit wisely and think about dressing to complement the image you are looking to portray.

I believe that what you don't say in an interview is just as important as what you do say. I found focusing on the following extremely useful:
Making eye contact with the interviewer; this portrays true listening skills
Posture- Walk tall, stand tall and sit tall; this portrays confidence and power
Keeping your facial expression animated;this portrays enthusiasm and energy

Last but not least, be yourself and let your personality shine through. Authenticity is key!
