What is the annual salary for this role?

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Don't be put off if you aren't from a specific engineering related background. Most of what you learn will be fresh on the job, and people have succeeded with degrees in a range of subjects, from Geography to Mathematics.

Do you have any interview tips?

As always, knowledge of the business' position and the market conditions are imperative, as interviewers are almost certain to check who's done their initial homework. Applying straight from a degree, there will be plenty of competency based interview questions (e.g. of the form "tell me of a time when you overcame a difficulty to.." etc.).
I would also strongly advise researching the steelmaking process, from iron ore to finished product. TATA Steel operates integrated steel works, which means it produces it's products from the very start. Some basic knowledge of ironmaking, steelmaking rolling processes would be very useful.
