What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Exposure to experienced underwriters and other TMK employees who are willing to take the time to train you and share knowledge/advice to improve your job.

Worst

Rotating around all the underwriting divisions in the first year, although good for exposure, is extremely challenging as it is difficult to settle in a team when for example only 2 weeks are spent in some teams. This can make it hard to develop skills as there is not enough time to get to grips with the class of business. There is also little/no influence over where the second year rotations are, rather they are determined by business needs, which can feel frustrating if there is an area of the business you feel strongly about but you know will not be an option.
