What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The mix of technical parts of the job, where you are on spreadsheets and dealing with lots of numbers and the communication aspect as well, not just within your team but in meeting and asking questions to many brokers.
I have also really enjoyed meeting many people all around the company in different lines of business.
The rotational element of the graduate scheme is fantastic as you gain experience in underwriting many Lloyd's lines of business within a 2.5 year period. There is also an international placement aspect of the job as well at the end of the graduate scheme which links into the line of business that we will be entering once the graduate scheme has finished.

Worst

None so far.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Current salary: £27,000 - £29,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 08:00

Finish: 17:15

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Be thorough, a well-written application with different experiences in different sectors will help you to stand out and is well regarded in interviews.
Also, prepare well for the competency tests as a lower score may be the difference in getting to a final interview or not.

Do you have any interview tips?

Relax, everyone is very friendly and not trying to trip you up, they want to know your personal side as well. Interviewers will understand that you may not have any experience in the insurance industry but as long as you can show you are willing to learn and adaptable then you can perform well in the graduate scheme.
