Starting salary: £25,000 - £27,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Ensure that you complete all of the practice tests that are made available, and if you are a bit rusty on working with percentages and fractions I would definitely do a little revision around these areas. Some of the tests that you have to complete in order to get through certain stages of the process require you to read and condense a great deal of information, you can't possibly read them in detail in the time allowed, therefore ensure you skim the information looking, and highlighting, any key points you think may be relevant.
The assessment centre is a very long, busy, stressful day so ensure you get plenty of sleep the night before and that you take a few snacks to nibble on throughout the day.
Do you have any interview tips?
The interview questions are based around a couple of competencies, which you are aware of prior to interview. Therefore ensure that you have a number of examples ready, using the STAR principle. You will also be asked about why you are interested in joining the Civil Service Fast Stream and for background information about you, as the interviewer, has no prior information in respect of you and your application.
