What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The breadth of my role within HR is astounding, one day I will be supporting with a TUPE transfer, the next I could be doing grievances/disciplinaries, and I also get involved in employee engagement, employee relations, site closures and new site openings, recruitment, project work and a load more stuff. The role is interesting because no day is the same and the company really gives you that real life experience.

Worst

Sometimes it feels like you are thrown in the deep end with little to no knowledge and it is scary, stressful and intimidating; but that is the case with any job. Just ensure you reach out to your manager, mentor and peer group for support as you are all in the same boat.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Current salary: £27,000 - £29,000

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Don't rush the tests, take your time and make your personality be seen.

Do you have any interview tips?

There is a long application and interview process. The interview process comprises of an all day assessment centre where you will have group tasks, a presentation to plan and present and an individual interview.
Be yourself, breathe before answering a question, be honest and give as many practical examples as possible.
DON'T fight other candidates to be seen as that will look badly on you; show that you are listening to others and offer your own suggestions and opinion on things respectfully. Even if your team does not win a task/activity does not mean you won't get the job - my group failed every single test! It is all about communication, respect and personality.
