What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £39,000 - £41,000

Current salary: £39,000 - £41,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 8:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

A background in geology is essential but detailed knowledge of petroleum geology is not, as you will learn on the job, so perhaps showing ability to learn is more important.
Also useful is knowledge of the oil & gas industry as a whole and the other parts of the business apart from the one you are applying to.
Displaying skills such as communication and teamwork, in line with BP's values is also very important.

Do you have any interview tips?

Technical questions about the nature of source, reservoir and cap rock. Questions about my degree (eg. mapping project). Shown pictures of core and seismic cross-sections and asked to describe reservoir/geology.
Personal interview not technical at all, but focussed on how I had displayed BP's values and challenges I had overcome.
