What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Depending on your chosen career path, whether you are a planner, in land, a QS or in technical, there are different application procedures. My process involved giving the recruitment team a ring and discussing over the phone my background and why I was interested. I was then invited for an interview, and offered the job a week or so later.

My advice to any applicant is relax, be confident, be yourself and try to focus on what makes you stand out from the others. With my application, I stood out as I am not from a Property background academically, I am a Law graduate. This enabled me to come across different from my competition, however I am having to do a Master's part time which is time-consuming! Crest will cover the cost of this though!

Do you have any interview tips?

I was asked the usual about background, why the housebuilding industry, what I know about it and what I can offer the team. Again, I was relaxed, confident and knowledgeable in terms of what I was applying for. I was helped by the recruitment team, who steered me in the right direction, so again any conversations you can have with people prior to the interview for useful tips, I highly recommend doing that as everyone is happy to help!
