What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Have some good work experience, it shows an interest in the given area. Not everyone has a relevant degree, but everyone has relevant work experience. I was lucky enough to spend a couple weeks with CBRE's development team in their head office in London. If you aren't lucky enough to know somebody who can get you work experience, use LinkedIn, see if anyone is able to give you a couple weeks at one of these companies.

Do you have any interview tips?

Be yourself, there's every chance you're not going to be the smartest in the room, but show a willingness to want to learn from market leaders and be a sponge. Be actively involved in the group tasks, provide some background information on the tasks if you can, but try not to be condescending on others, as this industry will rely a lot on how you're able to work in a team and if you are putting others in a position where they look worse than you, then it shows an inability to work in a team environment. BE FRIENDLY! First impressions go a long way! It is a relaxed assessment centre as far as the major real estate assessments go, you might get asked the general what are you strengths/weaknesses, there are a couple of simple group tasks, but overall it is not a stressful environment.
