What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

The work-life balance. The ability to use flexible working to have different start and end hours to the working day. The company paying for expenses, business mileage fuel. Provision of good laptops and work phones. Variety of company-related events for business and for networking.

Worst

The amount of time spent travelling and going to meetings, due to the distance between sites, design teams and customers.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £15,000 - £17,000

Current salary: £25,000 - £27,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 08:00

Finish: 16:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Research the company fully to understand the core values and current projects. Understand the sectors that the company works in and develop a general awareness of the UK construction industry.

Do you have any interview tips?

Be genuine in your answers. Demonstrate the experience you have in the construction/civil engineering industry via past projects. Have answers to: where do you see yourself in the company in 5 years time, what building would you be, what biscuit would you be. Demonstrate motivation and importantly teamwork skills. Understand the company values and how you are aligned to them.
