What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Demonstrate your strengths and show how you are different from the other candidates. Any leadership roles you have done (no matter how junior you feel they may be) is a talking point and can always be expanded upon in an interview.
But most of all, be honest and be yourself. The Capita Lead the Way programme is looking for individuals with drive, ambition and just someone who has something about them.
Do you have any interview tips?
In any interview you should be the one who does most of the talking. The interviewer should only speak for a minimal amount of time and the interviewee should be expanding upon and demonstrating their skills and qualities.
As with the application, be honest and just be yourself. I was asked in an interview "Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?". This question is tricky but just be honest. I gave a realistic answer and explained that I would have finished the graduate scheme, achieved a MSc and ideally be in a management role. There's nothing worse than joking about being at Board level after 5 years and hoping to be CEO by that time - it shows that seniority and job titles are all that is important to you.
