What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
It is very hard to do, but the most useful thing I could have been told throughout the application process and interview stage is to just relax and be yourself. The assessors are looking for natural competencies and not who shouts the loudest or sounds the smartest.
If you can articulate your points clearly and reasonably and still smile you have gone a long way to being a good candidate!
Do you have any interview tips?
At the interveiw stage you have proved your competency and the council are just looking for the best fit for them. Again, just be yourself. In preparing, it is really important to look at the history of the council, its core values and vision and what you can bring to this direction of travel.
