What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Be yourself!
Majestic want people to join the family who are passionate about people, customer service and our products. If you have the opportunity to gain retail or hospitality experience before your interview, definitely do it so that you have lots of examples up your sleeve when asked key competency questions.
Sell yourself in your application, including what you are most proud of, what you think the interviewer would be interested in hearing about. Whether that is hobbies or awards, make sure they know these fantastic achievements.
Finally, make sure you have done your research before applying. Will you enjoy working in an active, retail environment? If you are unsure, visit a couple of stores and get to know the people that work there to see if you can imagine yourself in this environment.
Do you have any interview tips?
For your interview - Demonstrate whether you are ready to commit to a Retail Management scheme and show that in the interview. If you do your homework and visit a number of stores and read up on Majestic, this will give you an idea of what 'a day in the life of a trainee' gets up to and something you can explain in your interview.
Don't be shy- Working in a Majestic store, you need to be confident enough to help all of our customers, so ooze confidence in your interview to demonstrate those people skills that we look for in our Trainee Managers.
