What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Working with a small team and having a specific goal set towards one school group. This means that I can trial ideas I've had in one with the intention to role these out in others. I can also spread my time evenly so that I am efficient in my actions.
The schools group is also very open to different aspects of nutrition and working with the same school staff and pupils means that I can create individual relationships and have more of an impact.

Worst

I have to schedule almost all of the things that I do, which is great when you consider I can do what I want, but sometimes if people aren't avaliable or the current climate (pandemic) means I am not able to do what I would like, I can find that I have a lot of free time.
Having just started this role within Independents and the job being new it means there is no structure to it, this can definitely be developed but lockdown, furlough and social distancing are making it difficult to create this structure/settle properly into the role.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £21,000 - £23,000

Current salary: £21,000 - £23,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 08:00

Finish: 16:30

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Show that you are excited to work for this company and willing to challenge yourself, a lot of the skills learnt are through your own trial and error which can be daunting at the beginning but much more effective over time.
Research the company, and be willing to show that you want to invest your time with them.

Do you have any interview tips?

I was asked a lot of Nutrition based questions, including putting together a proposal for increasing engagement and nutrition interest in primary schools. Make sure that you have thoroughly researched the brief and considered all angles, even discussing it with friends/family who may have a different insight to you on the topic who could provide more information.
Be confident, the interview felt daunting at the start but they wanted me to succeed as much as I wanted to, and that made the experience much more comfortable. Make sure you answer questions openly, and let them know you are willing to adapt in the role and take on other responsibilities if needed.
