What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Part of the application process involves completing online psychometric tests. I cannot emphasise the importance of practicing these enough. Although these are not too hard, if you try to wing it without practice you will probably fail.

Do you have any interview tips?

I know it sounds clichéd, but be yourself. HSBC employ individuals for their personality and competencies rather than their knowledge. You can be taught how to do a job, but you cannot be taught to be a decent person, and that’s the most important thing. Banking is a people business
