What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Consider carefully how you would fit in, in Cumbria. It is 2 and a half hours to the nearest big city and that really takes a toll on some people. The application process was slow so don't get worried if you don't hear back for a few months.
Do you have any interview tips?
Know a bit about the company past, current and future. Especially think about what the company will be looking to do in the future. In the phone interview it was standard questions about how you would fit in, what your leadship qualities were like etc. The assessment centre was straightforward with no tricks but it was a long two days. There was a team work exercise, a character interview (like the phone interview - have a good couple of solid experiences which demonstrate each point), an essay (very simple) and a technical interview (more about your field - straightforward questions about your degree discipline basically).
