What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Unless adverts fascinate and delight you, this isn't the role for you. Planning requires a genuine understanding of what an advert or piece of communication is trying to do, beyond a superficial 'like it/don't like it'.

The good news is that all you really need to do when applying is be able to demonstrate that understanding, and be sure to show your enthusiasm and passion too!

Do you have any interview tips?

Read a lot. There's loads out there - blogs, books, industry magazines etc. It's good to come across as knowledgeable. Be careful though, try and talk about your own opinions of particular adverts too. There's loads of insightful analysis of what ads do and don't work out there, but it'll be obvious if you're just parroting someone else's view.
