What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Read the advice given by the fast stream team very carefully - no-one is trying to catch you out and at each stage it is explained what they are looking for.
Prepare well - the numerical and verbal reasoning tests are where large numbers of people are cut from the pool. You can practice these online. Refresh your maths by looking at GCSE Bitesize - the maths isn't difficult, you just probably haven't done it for a while
Think about examples you can give for the competencies they are looking for before you arrive
Treat it as a learning experience - not many people get through first time. The feedback you'll receive is invaluable.
