What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Applying for the HR scheme doesn't require a specific degree, and suprisingly a lot of people who apply for the job don't know much about politics.

I'd advise you to do less research on who you're MP is, and familarise yourself with the civil service competencies, as these are what you are judged on.

Do you have any interview tips?

You're tested on some many diffrent things in the assessment centre (the interview is only a small part) that all you can really do is try and hone all your skills. This includes writing, numerical, interview and group work.
