Relevant experience is extremely useful though doesn't have to be in the oil and gas sector.
Technical knowledge is important but interpersonal skills are just as important as there is lots of work with others.
Do you have any interview tips?
Sound knowledge of basic engineering principles is required for technical interviews. Life experience outside of acedemia from which you can discuss the benefits is beneficial for HR interviews.
