What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Try and get some engineering work experience before leaving university because it makes your CV look better and gives you more to talk about at interview. It helps you to stand out because you aren't another person talking about their design project.

Generally try to make your CV stand out because the recruitment people see a lot of applicants so you need to make sure the way you sell yourself draws attention.

Do you have any interview tips?

Management interview - About how you do or would react in certain situations. No real right answer but think about all options in a given situation.

Technical interview - Know your chemical engineering principles. Heat exchange etc. People can get the job even if they don't get the right answer because the interviewers are looking at how you think. So make sure you explain your thinking and explore all the options. If the interviewer says something pay attention because they might be herding you towards something you have missed or they want you to expand on.

There is also a BEI interwiew which is about a situation you have been in and you have to talk through the situation from start to finish.

Graduates have a team building exercise which can be fun but just make sure you aren't rude to anyone but also that you get involved and get ideas across.
