Highlight your transferable skills; recruitment is all about people skills, and "selling". CVs that stand out are people who demonstrate good awareness of the industry and even if you haven't worked in sales or recruitment it's worth making clear having worked in demanding environments/ working with people/ working to time pressures or deadlines etc.

Competency based questions are always used at all stages of the process to understand where a person's skills and experiences have come from so read through your CV and prepare examples of when you have demonstrated the key skills required, such as difficult situations, had to communicate with people etc.
