What are the Best and Worst things about your job?

Best

Distinct working hours - so I know when I will be at work.
Very generous annual leave allowance and time off around the Christmas break.
Working in a small team gives exposure to certain parts of the software development life cycle that in larger companies you may not be involved in.

Worst

Time in which software is developed is valued more than the quality of the software released. Which, in my opinion, comes from a lack of understanding of software development at the board of the company.

What is the annual salary for this role?

Starting salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Current salary: £33,000 - £35,000

What hours do you actually work, on average?

Start: 08:30

Finish: 17:00

What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

You'll need to show that you have other interests outside of IT. Although you need quite specific skills for the job, you also need to fit in with the work environment and showing that you have other interests shows us the kind of person that you are.

Do you have any interview tips?

The interview process has changed quite a bit since I did mine. But, from what I gather, it is now fairly laid back and they're just trying to get a better understanding of the kind of person you are. Compared to other Software Development interviews, I would say this would be considered to be less of a technical assessment.
