What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?
Research how the business works, specifically the pricing structure and other similar policies. Visiting a Majestic and letting the staff know you're looking to apply is also a must.
Do you have any interview tips?
The interviewer will present you with a few bottles of wine. They will then ask you to sell it to them. Don't worry if you don't know your wine that much, the point is that you have just used the sales and customer service knowledge you know. Have a quick search online about food matching and recommend some food with the wine (e.g. matching a chablis with fish or pinot noir with game, casseroles etc).
They'll also ask you about leadership skills, problem solving and the usual typical interview questions.
