What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

You do not need to know a huge amount about wine just show that you are interested and willing to learn. Retail management is generally hard to get into without previous retail experience but hospitality experience is the same transferable skills. You will be asked to give examples of how you have worked in a customer facing role, sold products to meet sales targets and gone above and beyond to meet a customers expectations. Research what makes Majestic Wine different to their competition.

You will be asked to sell a bottle of wine to the member of staff interviewing you. Go visit a store before an interview and the staff will tell you more about what to expect.
