Use your own experiences both academic and personal to really bring yourself to life. There is more to life than work, show what you do outside of the work environment. You're always learning regardless of the situation!
Do you have any interview tips?
The soft skills are invaluable for day-to-day work and interaction. Be ready to promote these in the interview. Everyone has strong academic CV's in today's world. It's what you do personally that makes you stand out.
Be able to sell what you're doing and show passion. If you can't be passionate about the work you've personally done in the past (dissertation etc.) how can you be expected to show interest in day-to-day work.
