What advice would you give to someone applying to this role?

Know the firm, know exactly why it is that you want to work here and make those reasons clear, but also state why those reasons that attract you to the firm are important to you. 'I want to work for Weil because its a top PE firm'. Okay great, but why do YOU care that it is a top PE firm?

Be frank about why you want to be a lawyer, help the reader see your journey to that decision.

Have interesting extra-curricular activities that will make you stand out. Say something personal about yourself, that will make graduate recruitment want to meet you.

Do you have any interview tips?

You will always be asked about PE, so make sure that you have a very strong understanding of the mechanics of PE and also why you are interested in it. Understand what exactly it is about Weil that makes you want to come here, what sets it apart from all its other competitors. Always have well thought out questions to ask the interviewer in the end, preferably something about themselves (everyone loves to talk about themselves). Make sure that you read your application form again and you have answers for anything they might ask you based on that, especially if there is something exceptionally good or bad on your form.
